William C. Brown & Son
Inc. is one of Lewis County's oldest family owned
businesses. This plumbing and heating firm started operation
in Beaver Falls in 1915 and relocated to Lowville in 1916
under the direction of William Brown. Since 1978, its
present proprietors Arel and Barbara Brown have owned and
directed the business. 2019 will mark its 104th year of
serving the Lewis County area.
The business is comprised of three divisions. The service
and installation department is currently staffed by 6 full
time technicians. The team at Brown's has the training and
ability to design and install all types of residential and
small commercial plumbing, heating, and air conditioning
systems. They service what they sell and represent quality,
Energy Star rated, heating and cooling brands like Carrier,
Weil McLain, Buderus, Utica and ThermoPride. They provide
gas piping, custom sheet metal fabrication, and specialized
piping for in-floor radiant heating systems. In addition to
heating the guys at Brown's handle all kinds of plumbing
related jobs. From replacing a 200 foot deep submersible
pump to installing a new water heater these guys can do it
all. Brown's also install central air conditioning systems
and are authorized Carrier dealers. Tim Young and Brad Moser
head up our staff that has over 100 years of accumulated
experience. Other technicians include Kermit Luther, Sean
Walters, Derek Roes and Lloyd Widrick. For regular customers
they offer 24 hour service on products they have installed.
The Home Appliance center is located on Shady Ave. across
from the Farmers Coop and has on display refrigerators,
stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, freezers and
microwaves from prominent manufacturers that include Maytag,
Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire and Speed Queen. The store is
managed by Nancy Szijarto, with assistance by Janice Widrick.
They handle the sales and scheduling deliveries. Brad Moser,
Lloyd Widrick and Derek Roes are the installation and
service team that provide the support for the various
appliances. You can count on Brown's Appliance Center for
the competitive prices and great local service.
The third division is the plumbing and heating supply store.
This building is located on Forest Ave, Lowville and is home
to the area's most knowledgeable countermen. The trio
includes Doug Rook, Bill Stevens, and Merle Roes (the
"problem solvers"). In addition to these pros the store
houses the area's largest inventory of plumbing and heating
related supplies. All sizes and types of pipe and fittings
are available: pex, PVC, smoke, copper, galvanized, black,
poly and gastite too. A display of plumbing fixtures and
Delta faucets immediately catches your attention as you
enter the building. Quality name brand products include
Goulds and Grunfos water pumps, gas and electric water
heaters by A.O.Smith and Bradford White, Metalbestos all
fuel stainless steel chimneys, fuel oil tanks, and sump
pumps. Then there are thousands of little repair parts,
faucet washers, gaskets, duct tape, and all kinds of tools.
